General index to deeds-grantee, 1810-1969 [microform].

This index provides access to deeds using the name of the purchaser of the property. Information in the index includes name of grantee (purchaser); name of grantor (seller); kind of instrument other than deed, if any; volume number and page number where deed is recorded; date of deed and date deed was recorded (month, day, and year); and a short statement providing description and location of the property being transferred. Usually, if more than one grantee or grantor was involved in a transaction, only the first grantee or grantor was listed in the index.

Floyd, the fortieth Kentucky county, was formed in 1799 from parts of Fleming, Mason, and Montgomery Counties. It is named for Colonel John Floyd. Prestonsburg is the county seat.
